How to choose an executive coach.
Choosing an executive coach is similar to choosing a life coach. Even though there are some distinctive differences in what you are looking for. It doesn´t hurt if your executive coach has business experience outside of running a coaching business but that isn´t always a necessity. Executive coaches can vary in their expertise, some may focus on communication, others on goal setting or team building. Others will have a variety they can do, check what it is that you want to do with your organization. Talk to a few coaches and see what they offer, some coaches are quite diverse and may be able to do a lot more than what you originally were looking for.

  • Talk to several coaches and see which you find rapport with. For example, does the coach listen well, do you think your coach understands what it is that you are looking to achieve throughout the life coaching process.

  • Choose someone that has accreditation and business experience, there are several good federations that teach excellent guidelines and ethics. This is very important, and will also ensure that you get a professional. Ask them where they got their accreditation.

  • Ensure that you coach has received training, this can be coaching universities, NLP or other types of coaching that is recognized internationally. There are a lot of coaches out there, some of which are excellent while others may be lacking in some ways.

  • Choose a coach that has the experience you are looking for, if you want to improve communication for example you would not go see a health coach. There are coaches out there that work in more than one field since they are so interconnected. Choose the coach you think can work the best with you.

  • Ask the potential coach what

service s they deliver, ask for price, in this business like many others you get what you pay for. This is one of the things you will never regret doing for your organization, executive coaches usually get you a lot more than you bargained for.
